Testbed Botnia carries out a full-scale market test of an idea, concept, service and/or product. The test contains use of the Testbed Botnia technical platform, test pilots (individual target group) and of a scientifically secured evaluation (method and implementation).
Purpose of the test is often to create market feedback of a concept, service or a new technology in its real market environment. These projects are often complex and involve many different companies (like suppliers, users or customers). With the help of Testbed Botnias knowledge and experience they can be made a reality in a cost efficient way.
This is especially useful for foreign companies when entering into the European market. The service gives valuable insights into the relevant circumstances under which products can be launched on the European market.


The full-scale market test helps you create answers on the following example questions:
• Is there a market for my idea?
• Which are the possible target groups?
• What are the perceived values?
• What drives the usage?
• What are the possible business models?
• Does the technology work?
• What are the technical obstacles?

The service includes selecting an appropriate method for obtaining the necessary conclusions. Different methods are supported in both quantitive and qualitative domains. Examples are questionnaires, interviews, focus groups, etc. The methods are scientifically secured through Testbed Botnias extensive co-operation with university researchers at Umeå and Luleå universities whereby new methods continuously are included. Research co-operation includes areas like economy, marketing, psychology and technology.
